VENT about pregnancy fatigue!!!

ARGH am so fed up with being so friggin tired!!!!

This constant fatigue has been pretty much my only pregnancy symptom but I feel though at 18 weeks it should now be letting up?. Instead it just gets worse and worse!!

I?m in bed by 9:30 every night, sleeping solidly, up at 7:15 and then by 1-2pm I feel like I?ve run into a blimmin brick wall.

Re: VENT about pregnancy fatigue!!!

  • I'm tired all of the time too, and I work 12 hour shifts on my feet, rotating days/nights. On my days off it's a miracle if I go to the grocery or do a load of wash. I was hoping to hit my stride as well, but it's all nausea and tiredness here.

Maybe things will get better in the next few weeks! Here's hoping!

  • I WISH I could get as much sleep as you.  I am in bed by 9/9:30 and I get up at 4:30/5:00 (depending on how many times I hit snooze).  I work a 9-10 hour day and I am pooped!  I seriously looked at the clock at 10am at work this morning and was shocked that was all it was!  I was going to take a nap in my car for lunch but it was freaking 90+ outside....I would really like to know where this 2nd tri energy is!

  • I am always very tired too!  I work evenings, so I am usually in bed by 10:30/11:00 and could sleep til 7:30/8:00.  But to get any motivation to do anything is a miracle.  I've had slight relief from constant fatigue, but about 2x a week I have a really tired day.  And it seems every day from 2-3 is my "sleepy time" like I could take a nap and sleep for another 2 hours! Argh. so frustrating.

  • Maybe it'll get better for you soon....I was exhausted (collapsing on the couch at like 8:00) until 19 weeks. I'm finally starting to feel normal again.

Something else that helped was a little bit of caffeine around 2/3pm...just a small cup of green tea or even decaf coffee. It helped me get through the work day.

  • I hear ya! I was actually pretty good for much of the first tri but toward the end of first tri and into second tri I was dealing with major insomnia. That has since passed, but I don't feel like I've ever caught up from the lack of sleep during my bout with insomnia.

I'm sleeping about 8 hours a night and ready to crash again an hour after I get up... Drag my butt through the day and hope to get to bed early every night, which rarely happens... :(

  • I was really tired early on in my first tri, then felt great. The last week or two? Hit by a TRUCK. I swear I thought I was going to doze off driving home from work yesterday :( And I cant nap either... well my son doesnt really allow it but even if he did, I always wake up from naps nauseous and blah. Sigh. I need to work on getting to bed earlier but it is really hard to give up that sliver of wind down time after the baby is asleep.
