Short Story: Teagan Marie was born on 8/16 at 7:54 a.m. She weighed 8 lbs 12 oz and 21 1/4 in long.
Long Story: At my app on Monday, I was 3 1/2 cm and 80% effaced. She sweeped my membranes and all I felt was cramping for two days. SO and I took a walk on Wednesday and I was having contractions 5 minutes apart. Eventually they slowed down and we went to bed. I woke up at 12:15 with really painful contractions. By 1:30 I could barely breathe through them. I told my SO I would call at 2 if they were still that bad. By 1:45 I couldn't take it and called. She sent me in to L&D. There they checked me and I was still 3 1/2 to 4, so they told me they would come back in an hour to check again. 30 min later I was in so much pain, and started feeling sick. I started puking and a midwife came in to check me. She said my water must have broke while I was puking, and I was 6 cm! At 4 am I got the epidural which wasn't as bad as I expected. An hour and a half later I felt like I had to make a BM, and they checked me. I was 9 1/2 cm!! SO they sat me up, and within 30 minutes I felt like pushing. They checked me and I was a 10. I pushed for an hour and a half. It was nice because they had recaps of swimming for the Olympics on TV while I was pushing. Being a swimmer all my life it gave me motivation. The last 5 minutes of pushing was so intense, but it was all worth it when they put her on my chest. Everyone including myself was in shock at her size, and I didn't tear at all. The recovery has been rough because I had some heavy bleeding they were concerned about and I was unable to void. I also could not get up with out getting light headed and dizzy. My SO was amazing and did everything while we were in the hospital and the first few days home because I couldn't get around well. Breastfeeding has been challenging, but it is getting better. After looking at all the posts I missed, I see I'm not the only one. Hope everyone is enjoying their little ones, and for those waiting it will all be worth it soon!
Here is pictures my friend took yesterday. She looks just like Daddy.
