Painless Contractions

At 38 weeks I was 1cm, 50% effaced and -2 station. I have my 39 week appt. tomorrow and while I am looking forward to progress I am still hoping to have some time.

DH and I are finishing a few projects around the house and I would really appreciate it if the kiddo would stay in just a few more days so we can finish those up....that being said for the past 2 days I have been having painless contractions pretty regularly.

Are painless contractions something I should be paying attention to and timing?

Likely BH, but might be a good idea to time them, try to drink & rest to see if it changes.  If nothing else, something to talk about @ next appt.

Hope baby waits until you finish up ur projects!

I think the rule is you should start paying attention if you have more than 4 in an hour. BH won't get progressively longer, stronger or more frequent like "real" contractions though.

On a side note, I think the whole term "braxton hicks contraction" is dumb. A contraction is a contraction. It's just not actual LABOR until they get more frequent and intense.

This is what I am dealing with right now. I'm 3cm dilated and 80% effaced but I've only really had a handful of contractions that really fit the "true" description but a TON of BH contractions.
