On Friday we had our 20 week u/s and the doctor said the baby had a Choroid Plexus Cyst in the non-thinking side of his/her brain. She also said that the baby's ventrical fluid was on the high side of normal. With these two markers, we are going in for a Level 2 u/s tomorrow to check for Down Syndrome, Trisomy 18 and various other chromosonal syndromes. I know we're low risk since I'm 28 and very healthy with no history of genetic problems on either side of our families, but we're worried sick. I just want the baby to be as healthy has he or she can be. Please send positive thoughts and prayers our way for tomorrow morning!
Thank you!

I am so sorry you are going through this! It is most likely just an isolated CPC, which is WAY more common than Trisomy 18. Nearly half of babies with Trisomy 18 have a CPC, but a relatively tiny portion of babies with a CPC have Trisomy 18. Trisomy 18 and Downs are both associated with other abnormalities that would most likely be detected at a regular US. Fluid also usually normalizes.
The Level 2 US is so much cooler than a regular one at most offices because the equipment is more sensitive (and therefore more detailed). Most likely you will get a really neat 2nd U/S that puts all these worries to rest!
