Hi Everyone, It's been a long wait to join you all but I finally feel comfortable to jump in. I have a little girl (born Nov 20, 2011) and we have a wee boy on the way due Jan 12, 2013. My reason for delaying my intro is that we had significant issues at out NT Scan, and had to wait 3 weeks for an amnio, and then another 3 weeks for results. Then we had our a/s last Thursday and met with a geneticist. The results show he has Trisomy 2 Mosaicism, and the a/s showed an irregular heartbeat and the cord insertion to the placenta is not normal either. The best part is, our baby has chosen to stay with us on this journey, and we hope he continues to. We are being positive and hopeful for his growth and development in utero, and we'll be having weekly OB heartbeat checks and growth u/s as the mosaicism and cord problem can cause IUGR (a small baby). I hope I can contribute good advice for first time Moms and become a part of your community :-)
Re: Finally making my intro...
Welcome and congrats on your little boy. It sounds like your journey to this point has been stressful but I commend you for staying positive. I don't know what I would do if I had to deal with some of those issue. You are clearly a strong woman and will be a wonderful mother to LO #2 when he arrives.
I'm a FTM and I love any and all advice I can get.
