What would you think of a boy with the intials DSW?

I dont see anything wrong with it. You could find something associated with any initials so I wouldn't worry about it unless it spelled 'ASS' or something kids would pick up on easily.

Dunno what store that is but the initials sound fine. He would probably just use the DW initials for things anyways.

I think nothing, yes, DSW is short for a shoe store, but it wouldn't make me change my name.
