I'll probably dismiss my entire labor

At this point, i've had so many signs for so long, i'm pretty sure i'll brush it off when it really happens and end up having her in the front yard. Which would be awkward since our landlords live next door. I've lost my mucous plug at least three times and had 'contractions' for a week and a half at this point, forgive me for not getting excited.

Anyone else think the 'signs' are a load of crap?

  • I had zero early labor signs, but I still think it would have been super obvious anyway when it was the real thing!  I also thought it was great to labor at home and show up at the hospital 8-9 cm dilated,so it may not be the worst thing if you don't realize it right away :)

  • I think after so long of having no kinds of contractions whatsoever, I'll end up disregarding labor once it starts because I haven't had any signs of it yet! Well, I have lost quite a bit of MP, and I have some very low cramps, but that's really nothing.

  • I had 3 1/2 weeks of prodromal labor. After my induction was scheduled, I didn't totally disregard any labor signs but I definitely stopped getting my hopes up every time I felt something. By the time it was the "real thing," I was already in the hospital.
  • I'm with you. I told my husband we aren't going unless my water breaks or I see body parts. It is too disappointing to be sent home.

  • Me too! I've been having so much pressure, cramps, painless and painful contractions, MP, fluish symptoms, you name it. And my sister swears she didn't really feel pain from her contractions until she was almost complete. And the really annoying thing is it has evolved every day so every time it changes I no longer wonder if this is it. I just think, "So THIS is happening now... Eh, it's probably nothing."
