Am I being a worry wort? Fetal Movement

I am a FTM so I might be overreacting. I have felt LO a couple times today but really not as much as I normally do. Her kicks aren't as strong and even after eating something sweet with a glass of cold water she still barely moved (I think shes moved about 4 times all morning and the rest are little tickles). It is Sunday so I obviously can't bug my OB with this. Is this worth going to L&D or am I just being a hormonal worry wort?

Lay down on your left, do a kick count for an hour. If she hasn't moved 10 times call your on-call OB. Yes it's Sunday, but I guarantee you can call your doctor.

This. There is always someone on-call. Whether it is your doc/another doc in the practice/ a nurse practitioner/ etc. The office recording should give you the option to page the on-call physician or a number for an answering service. GL.

This.  But remember, even tickles count as movement.

  • Drink something ice cold and sweet like some cranberry grape juice lay on your left side and do a count if you can't get 10 kicks then go to l&d they'll do an ultrasound and monitor you and the baby for a while your baby just may be comfortable and doesn't want to move
  • Thanks ladies. I am currently laying on my left side eating a klondike bar.

No. Call your on-call doc first, don't just show up in L&D.

    Agree! Call first.

Some practices don't have an on call doctor that you can reach without going to L&D first. My practice requires you to go to L&D before the on call doctor is notified.  I think it's for liability reasons.
