Has anyone flown United recently? We are flying tomorrow for the first time with LO. I called the airline to confirm that I could bring a sippy cup with milk. The lady I spoke with said it was fine but she sounded hesitant. Does anyone know if it is in fact okay to
bring a sippy cup with more than 3.5 ounces of milk? What was it like going
through security Thanks!

Re: Flown United lately?
I know you are allowed through with more than 3.5 oz of purees, BM and formula. I am not positive about regular milk but I assume like BM and premade formula they'd just test it and it would be fine. Honestly, I would just bring empty sippys and buy milk on the other side just to avoid the hassle.
Most airports have a "family line" to make the process easier for those with small children. They most hassle we had was just the logistics of getting the carseat and the stroller and everything through the xray and then set back up.
I think you should be fine bringing the milk. They might have to perform additional tests on it, but generally as long as it's obviously for your DD and you bring it to their attention, it's okay.
When we were coming back from Montana a few weeks ago, they made me open the pouches I brought so they could do a quick test (they didn't take any of the contents out, just tested any potential off gas...it was interesting). It was the first time I'd had an issue with pouches like that, so really I think it depends on your airport.
Happy travels!

They are very flexible with all things baby. You should be fine with the sippy full of milk. They will probably test it just like they do the water for formula or BM. I'm sure you'll be fine. The worst that ca happen is they make you dump it and then you can buy some on the other side like PP said, but I doubt that'll happen.
If you're flying with someone else, let them handle the big "gear" (stroller, car seat, etc.) and you stick to the baby & diaper bag. We've done that ever time we've flown with M and it works great for us. If you're flying alone, don't be affraid to ask one of the attendants for help at the security line. When I flew with him alone, they were very helpful.
Billings Airport? They are much stricter there. We flew out of there almost a month ago. They opened our pouches also. However, Nashville did not. They did test the sippy cup at each airport. No big deal.
Bozeman! I wonder if it's a Montana thing, because they were the strictest of any airport I've flown from with DS (and at this point that's quite a few!).

Wow! What a coincidence. Are you going to Yellowstone, by any chance? Either way, have fun! What a beautiful place. Bozeman is a really neat little town too, if you have a chance to spend any time there. There's a coop grocery store just down the way from the main "drag" and it was awesome. We picked up food from there for dinner before heading to the airport to go home, just because we were sick of eating unhealthy things after a week of traveling. They had some tasty salads in the deli area.
Have fun!

We are staying in Kalispell for half the week and Bozeman the rest. We are going to Yellowstone and some Dinosaur museum. DH has family out there. We will have to check out hat little store!
Cool! Have fun
