Baby Pool (not the kind with water): STM question

DH really wants to do a baby pool. We've got family all over the world, and those we've talked to are super excited to guess the due date. I'm really much more handy with yarn or fabic than I am with computers, so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestion for online sites that I could use to put one on my blog?

TIA!

Re: Baby Pool (not the kind with water): STM question

  • Is a baby pool something where people put in money trying to guess your baby's birthday?  That's what I'm guessing from this post...

  • Oh yes, I should probably have explained it a bit more. We have a bunch of family who want to guess weight, delivery date and time, and a myriad of other things if allowed. It doesn't have to involve money. We were thinking of doing it just for fun, but I know a bunch of people who do involve money in it. I was thinking more along the lines of for fun, and I might put together a funny award or something for the winner =)
  • I don't know any sites, but I think that's fun and a good idea! :)

  • We used babyhunch.com. Whomever won, in our poll, got to pick from a 6 pack of beer, bottle of wine, or Starbucks gc from us! It was fun. There was no money involved, of course, just guesses. Everyone loved it.

This sounds fun.  I probably wouldn't be into something where people put in money for guesses.

  • ^^ Definitely not. That site isn't really set up like that, so it was a non-issue. People got competitive, it was fun. Someone even guessed his name- which we told no one! The girl who won got a nice bottle of Shiraz :)

  • Thanks, this is exactly what I was looking for, and great prize suggestions!!! I thought it would be a bit cheesy to ask for money for it. I figured if someone set up a pool for us and wanted to have an enter cost, that would be different, but we just wanted a way to get everyone involved. My dad is 1 of 12 kids and my husband has a huge Indian family. We're all spread out! If I can find a way to link this to the blog and maybe put a message board with it, it'll get people talking =)=)
  • expectnet.com is another popular site.
  • We will be doing one too. We are team green so everyone will have to guys gender as well along with date, time, weight, and height. We had a friend that did one and just set up an event on FB and everyone put their guess there. We will just do a 25 Visa gift card or a restaurant gift card for the prize so it's easy to mail if the winner is farther away.

  • What a great idea. So glad you asked about it. Might have to convince DH to have us do it too :

  • I love this idea!!  Especially, since my Hubster doesn't really want to tell anyone anything (especially the gender) I think this will entertain both of us!
