We are about to move to Oak Park from Orlando in October, and I was just telling my husband that I'd love to do some babysitting/day care at home. I have my Masters in education and have been a nanny. We just got back yesterday from house hunting, and I'm so excited about Oak Park! What an awesome community!

I live in Forest Park but have only looked into daycare. In case you're interested in exploring other options these seem to have potential (my sight visits are coming up in the next month):

There's also a Montessori school on N. Lathrop.

I live in the area and I just started the daycare search. I called the West Suburban Home Daycare Association and they gave me the names and numbers of people that may have openings, and who were on my way to work. The woman who answered the phone was helpful, even if their website is a little low tech.

The public library should have a listing of early childhood childcare resources in the area. I know OP library has them if you ask in the children's room. FP should have them, too.

I think our in-home daycare may have an opening. Two older children just graduated. A friend of mine who used to live in the area also recommends her provider and I can find out her information if you would like it.

    Hello,

I am a Montessori teacher who recently decided to stay home with our little one. I will start interviewing prospective families who are interested in Montessori home care for their child in February 2013. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I have a Primary Montessori certification and a Masters in Early Childhood Education.
