Do you have experience with a specific kids harness (the kind where you can hold onto a leash) that you like? Just wonder which is the best or what to look for.(and please spare me the lecture if you don't like them, you must be a better mother than me to be able to control 2 12 month olds by yourself in a parking lot or other busy area).
Re: Recommend your child harness
So we have this backpack harness and really like it. We've honestly never really used the leash part of it though, (maybe once?) but DS LOVES wearing the backpack. The leash is also removeable.

We were gifted the backpack "child safety harness" from Target that looks like a bear. My friend that gave it to us has got 3 walkers (13mo old twins + 2 yr old) and really likes it.
FWIW, I think more people should harness their kids. Keeps them safe and while everyone says "my kid is such a prescious angel she wouldn't wander off..." every kid is different. I think of that episode of Modern Family where Cam and Mitchell were explaining that their child was a runner. All of the kids in my family were also runners, so I have the backpack harness just in case.

We have this one but haven't used it yet.
No judgement here. My kid's safety comes first. If people don't like it, too damn bad.
we have an eddie bauer one from target

i let him wear just the backpack for a while to get used to it before the harness part. it was a total lifesaver in the airport recently. he could run and release energy before each flight, without escaping into the actual walkways and getting trampled.
eta: he's wearing his harness in my siggy pic
This exactly. I have a Munchkin one that I bought on Amazon. It's like this: https://www.amazon.com/Sunshine-Kids-Steps-Safety-Strap/dp/B00081L4YW/ref=pd_sim_ba_4
I can't find the exact one I bought.
LOL
LOL. That's cute. About a year from now, at some point in time, your cute little currently immobile worm will go limp and scream bloody murder to try to escape holding your hand. Most likely while you're carrying something breakable. Good luck with your "disapline" working on a 14 month old.
This. People can judge me and my baby on a leash all they want as long as my baby can't escape into a horde of people. We've only tried it once so far and DD thought it was hilarious. She would run and jump when she got to the end of the leash, become airborne for a second, then go splat on the ground. So we need to work on the technique a bit but I think she'll get the idea eventually.
