Today marks the 11th day that I've had sciatic nerve pains in my hip and leg! The weeks before it was only for 2 days. I guess she has made herself at home! I just read where this may effect m euntil she gets here (12 more weeks!!!)
omgosh im so sorry! I had this with my son for a good 2 weeks ans it was miserable. I literally could not walk and had to use an electric ride on scooter as i shopped. NOT FUN! Hang in there!
I posted a few weeks ago with the same problem. Sorry you have to work through it. It's painful.
Anyway, I went to get a prenatal massage and the therapist showed me some stretches and what to do to relieve pain. Basically "butterflies" and taking one leg across your body (bent knee) and extending the other leg and pulling the knee close to you (sorry, don't remember what this stretch is called.
Then he said to take a hard ball, like a softball, and sit on it. Move it around until you feel the pressure on the area that aches in your butt (that's where the nerve is). Said to try this until it is released a bit and then change positions frequently.
I've started walking more frequently (exercise-wise). With proper shoes and a straight-away path. And that seemed to help.
Hope you get some relief soon. Schedule a massage. I can't believe the wonders it did for me.
I've been having this issue too. My dr sent me to PT where they gave me two stretches that help a bit. However, I've found that propping my feet on a stool the same height as my chair helps. (so my legs are straightout like I sit on a couch) That and ice.
I have been having pain in my tailbone/thigh. It hurt whenever I moved my legs. I went to the chiropractor today for the first time and I feel better already. Also, I'm sure a massage wouldn't hurt.
I have had two episodes with this, about 6 weeks apart... I went to the chiro about a day or two after they started and it was gone within 24 hours... If you can go to one, they might be able to help ... hope so
Re: Sciatic Nerve Momma!
i have the same issue. it sucks!
I told my DR and he just said "yea your kind of sh*t out of luck... you can try stretching or exercise... but that isn't going away.."
i wanted to scream

I had it during my last pregnancy for the last 6 or 7 weeks. It was hell!
One of my physical therapist friends gave me some "exercises" to do, but they didn't help at all.
