So my plan all along has been to just work right up untill the end.  I read my plan docs and they said I only get 6 weeks for regular delivery and 8 for c/s... so i called after re-reading them on monday.

Come to find out my doc can take me out (paid) 4 weeks before delivery, which even if she goes past her DD would mean getting paid the whole time off, less the 2 weeks unpaid i'd have to do for the after birth part i want to take....

i think i may just have to take this option.  I'm an executive admin and as i'm getting wicked BH's every 30 minutes all day (to the point that it gets hard to talk through them sometimes) its getting harder to do my job.  I was trying to talk to a client yesterday, and had one hit.  Thank goodness the client was female and already knew i was pregnant... still making it tough to work.  I don't mind being uncomfortable, but i can't exactly say "i'm having a contraction let me call you right back" to clients...

Now i just have to find a way to talk about it with my 3 bosses as they are all going to be in and out of the office this week, and still haven't talked to eachother about my request for a slight schedule change when i get back from maternity.

Love bosses who procrastinate.  and yes, that was deff. sarcasm. :-(

That's exactly what I did! Only I was off for 6 weeks before he was born and got paid for 4 of them...I was having a lot of BH contractions and it was 100 degrees outside, so I figured if it was time that they would pay me for, why not?

I hope your bosses cooperate! It definitely was nice to have some time off before LO to just relax, get the house ready, and spend some time just the two of us before we became a family of three.

i don't really need them to approve when i leave, especially if my blood pressure is up again this week.  I read my documents wrong and didn't know that i could ask to be taken out a few weeks early.

The one where i need all 3 to be ok with is my return schedule.  they dont' pay me enough to cover 4 days of daycare a week (corporate decides what i get paid, not my bosses) and my DH can't take Fridays off at all per his boss because too many other people at his job take off Fridays.

here in my office thats our slowest day, with the least phone calls, so we'll see if they'll be ok with me dropping 3 hours from my sched so i can take friday's off....if not i may not be comming back.

Do it!  My doctor just took me out of work for high BP and honestly it's such a huge relief, I was ready to go.  I also planned on working to the day baby showed up, but there is truly something to be said about getting to sleep in, take a nap as needed, and prop up those feet as needed.

I say do it! I was planning on working until I "popped" and decided today that this Friday will be my last day.... I have had high bp off and on and I honestly can't stand people at work anymore and the doctor "highly recommended" at my appointment yesterday that I stop working. So heck figure I might as well do it!
