Pretty TMI pregnancy-related question

Ok, I'm about to get pretty TMI on you ladies, and I apologize. But my only other option is google and I'm not getting anything that seems useful. This pregnancy is totally different from my first and I feel like I don't know my body at all. My newest ailment? I have what I am pretty sure is a varicose vein on my vulva. So far the only thing that helps is sitting with an ice pack on my crotch. Has anyone dealt with this? Is it something I should call my midwife about? Any at-home remedies or at least temporary relief? Do they go away? Help!

If you're in pain enough for ice packs, I'd call your midwife just to be safe.

I'm not in much pain, but it is uncomfortable, and the whole area is kinda swollen. Maybe I'll call anyway just to see if they can give me any advice.

Ha!  I too vote for calling your MW though.  It sounds like one of those normal but painful pregnancy things, but she may have some suggestions to deal with it better.

    Sorry about yer vagine.

  • ugh, I'm VERY sorry! My friend dealt with this thru both of her pregnancies. We ended up nicknaming it because it got so large. (sorry- tmi-   and not to scare you).  It's very normal, but I'm sure your MW will have some answers for you. fwiw, my friend had her's removed after the second birth. It's just from all of the blood engorgement in that area right now..   GL!!
