The receptionist at my MFM's office seemed a little confused yesterday about my upcoming appt on Thursday.
I'll be 'technically' 17w,2d on Thursday and it was mentioned we'd do the a/s with my MFM (wasn't sure if that meant the next appt or just in general) but when I called to check to get a better idea of the appt length due to it being twins - she told me that she didn't see a note but that it probably was...
Did anyone have their a/s before 18 weeks?
I was reading the best timing for cardiac evaluation was between 20 - 22 weeks. It seems odd to do it before 18 weeks but maybe I'm wrong.
Re: A/S Timing
Ditto! I wanted to have it done before I get back to teaching
I went to my 16w appointment and tried to weasel in the soonest A/S I could get. I am so excited! The nurse told me I had to wait until at least 20 weeks to get the best measurements possible. That does seem early...
If you'd be more comfortable waiting until 20 weeks you can change your appointment. I doubt they'd set up an appointment that early if they thought they couldn't get the measurements they needed but pushing it off might prevent you from having to go back in a few weeks to get more measurements.
My a/s isn't until 20w5d.
It may just be a monthly visit. I go to the dr this week but my a/s is not for another 3 weeks. I'll be 20 weeks then.
Remembering Robby
Mine is scheduled for 16w6d which seems really early to me. My doctor said I'll be far enough along at that point but I have my doubts. For those who had early ones and had to go back, is there a downside to having to do that? In my mind it would be bother chance to see LO.
ETA: My OB doesn't like to wait until 20 weeks. She typically schedules them at 18 weeks.
