I was a little wary of doing a tri right after having a procedure to remove a granuloma, but it turned out to be far less painful than it would have been had I waited!
All together it was a pretty good race. I am still nowhere near where I was 2 years ago. I got my goggles punched off my face in the first 300 meters of the swim, which meant an eye filled with lake water and a struggle to re-combobulate in the middle of a thrash of limbs, but I felt great! I felt like the "old me."
What do you ladies do that makes you feel like your old pre-baby self?
Re: Did a triathlon today--felt like "old me"
Good job and congratulations!
I had a few beers after work on Friday with the boys from work (it's construction, not a lot of girls around). That took me back to pre baby days, although I couldn't really let go and enjoy myself because I was anxious to get home to DH and DD.
Getting back in the gym after a year with no membership makes me feel like my old self. Prior to that yr I hadn't gone more than 5 days without going to the gym in 14 yrs!!
edit: I meant to say Congrats!!

May Siggy Challenge: TV mom
Going to the gym and shopping by myself. Tomorrow I'm getting a massage because I have a spa finder giftcard from teacher appreciation week. Last night was B's first night in his crib so I had a bubble bath with all the lights on and the tv blaring in my room because I could!
It's nice to have bits and pieces of "normalcy" after 8 months.
Kudos to you for the tri. I don't know if it's something I'd ever be able to do.
Success After Losses. I carry your
That's awesome, congrats!
Shopping alone reminds me of my pre-baby self (getting to actually try clothes on to be specific!). I also like to go for a run by myself without the jogging stroller, I can run a lot farther and I get to clear my mind for a bit.
Shopping does it for me, too. When I was pregnant, shopping was so depressing. All the normal clothes looks so tiny and deformed because I was used to looking at maternity stuff. I thought I would never look normal again!
That is awesome kwinkle!
Shopping and working out make me feel "normal". I get to work out three times a week with E going to the gyms day care. The shopping I really haven't done much of...I'm hoping on our trip back to the States I can get the chance!
