Have you already washed all your bottles/ BF supplies

I have it all out and ready- but have you already washed/ sterilized your bottles and breastfeeding parts?

No, we have it all on a shelf in the kitchen cabinet, but I don't plan on pumping or bottle feeding for the first 3 weeks.

Bottles are all washed and I plan on washing my pumping stuff tomorrow. The only reason I want the stuff washed for my pump is because I am a FTM and I am so intimidated by my pump I want to take it with me to the hospital so the nurses can show me how to use it. I am in a wedding a month after my due date and I am going to have to pump for that day so my husband can feed him while I deal with wedding duties.

Nope, everything is still sealed up in the box, but I'm getting so antsy I almost want to take it out and try to naturally induce my labor, lol.  I'm only just over 39 weeks, so I probably won't...but it's tempting!

Nope, my pump is still in the box, unopened, because if for some reason I can't BF/pump, I want to be able to return it.

When we got baby stuff out the other week, I did go ahead and wash all the bottles/nipples/rings and put them away in a cabinet (I knew I wouldn't feel like trying to reorganize everything after giving birth).

I didn't get my pump out though to sanitize that stuff. But I have those microwave sanitizing bags so it's not that big a deal to pop them in for a couple minutes before I need to use them.

This was actually my GOAL OF THE DAY!  It was actually waaay more work than I expected.  (I can be a clean freak, though.)  I ended up doing the following:

1) Washed Drying Rack for bottles and parts

2) Washed all 4-5 oz bottles & parts with soap and hot water (I have 12 total.  7 Dr. Browns 4oz, and 4 Medela 5oz)

3) Washed all Medela Pump In Style Advanced parts with soap and hot water (except for the tubing)

4) Sterilized all bottles/parts and pump parts (except for tubing) in boiling water on the stove (5 minutes for Dr. Brown stuff according to instruction manual, 10 minutes for the Medela stuff according to instruction manual)

Now everything is drying on the drying rack AND a towel on the counter because it was SOOO much stuff. 

5) I also got out the Advent microwave sterilizer I got from my registry and washed that with soap and hot water.  (I found out that it doesn't really fit the Dr. Brown's bottles perfectly, but I still plan on making it work.)  Until the baby builds up a good immune system, I plan on washing everything with soap and water after each use and then using the microwave sterilizer.

I don't plan on using the pump or bottles until 4-6 weeks after I have my baby (but I wanted to have everything ready just in case).   Also, my plan is to take my breast pump to the hospital with all of the clean parts and hopefully have the lactation consultant teach me how to use it. 

I feel A LOT better having everything washed and being prepared.  Other people might be holding off because they want to return the pump if they don't use it...I thought of that too, but well...it's too late now.  I'm counting on everything to go well

Got my pump today and so excited that insurance covered it! Planning on washing everything this weekend and taking pump to hospital :-)
