My heart feels like it's pounding out of my chest. Some say it's contributed to too much caffine like chocolate or can start when the baby starts to move. Anyone feeling this in their 2nd trimester?
I have this too. It's only every once in a while but does last a little while. I had it in both my 1st and 2nd trimesters. I would tell/ask your doctor about it. I did and she said it's probably just the increased blood flow in my system and I shouldn't worry unless I get light headed or dizzy or if it becomes more constant. If it becomes a problem though she said we could look at doing some blood pressure meds if needed. I would definitely tell your doctor as every BODY is different and they can help you watch it.
This happened with DS and now with this pregnancy. My OB says it is perfectly normal and I am not doing anything to contribute to it. I just sit still and wait for it to pass. I have noticed that it seems to happen a lot when I lay on my back so I have officially switched to laying on my sides.
I went to the doctor when this happened to me, my chest pains/palputations were happening every night from 10 weeks on and for very long periods of time, i was told it wasn't attributed to anything with my pregnancy, turns out I have Graves Disease (a thyroid problem) and PAC (a heart condition). I'm not saying this is what's happening with you, but I wouldn't completely write it off as a pregnancy thing until you get it checked out. Better to be safe than sorry. Good luck!

I talked to my Dr.. this week because I have felt like I'm having heart palpitations and a fast heart beat out of the blue (not movement or exercise related). He said this was totally normal during pregnancy. He says he only sends women to a cardiologist if they are having a lot of symptoms such as fainting etc.
Spoke to my OB about it the other day and he wants to send me for an echo to make sure my heart can handle the pregnancy. He said it is kinda normal but they want to make sure. I notice it alot when the baby moves and when I eat chocolate lol I guess the caffiene does it to me too.
