anatomy scan question

So I had my a/s yesterday and found out we're having another little boy :) I am SUPER paranoid though. I was not like this with my first at all. Obviously all the tech could tell us was the sex, but if there was a problem they would let us know ASAP right? Like within a couple days?

Re: anatomy scan question

  • Do you not get to meet with your OB right after the u/s? That's when they review the u/s with us is right after but my OB has the u/s right there in their office. It seems to take longer if you have to go to another office to have your u/s...their tech has to review it and then send it to your doctor and with my last pregnancy it seemed like it always took a few days. Hang in there!

    Henry Cavill...You're welcome!

  • I don't know - our office has a high risk doctor look at the scans before we leave & talks about any problems before I go. (Like my placenta previa). I have never not known if something was wrong or off before leaving a scan.

all my u/s are done at an office at the hosptial.

  • Nope I didn't see my OB after. I don't have another appt until next month. I have Kaiser so it's all at the same office. Ugh.

With my son I never heard anything about the results until I had my next appointment a few weeks later - just told me that everything looked great.

  • I don't meet with my dr after, but he said they would call me with any abnormalities, or send me up to the office immediately. If everything's ok, we don't discuss until my next appointment. Congratulations on Baby Boy!

    Congratulations on Baby Boy!

    Thank you!

I suppose it's one of those "no news is good news" things.

  • Im a high risk OB sonographer, if you had it done at a level II place, you should be told before you leave if there are any issues...if you went to a chain radiology place like advanced or american rad, they send your report to your doctor and it should take a couple days

Thanks for the info! It was at Kaiser, so I'm assuming that would be a level II?
