Hey everybody! Hope everyone is doing great and getting ready to have their babies, or enjoying their new arrival! I had my son on Aug. 2nd, 3 weeks early. I was scheduled for a non stress test Thursday to find that he wasn't moving. They sent me to labor and delivery to get hooked up to a fetal monitor to check him again. Still no movement. They induced me by breaking my water then later starting pitocin but with every contraction, his heart rate would drop. They decided on c-section and Chase was born at 5:16 on Thursday! He's in the NICU now for low blood sugar but is making progress everyday..he truly is the light of my life!
I never imagined having to go through any of this but I'm glad he's got a great NICU team, they really care about him! The c section wasn't a part of my "plan" either..but it became really obvious that sometimes things don't work out the way you want them to. My incision is healing up nicely, but my question is, what did you ladies do for your bellies after delivery? I've been hearing about post partum bands ..ex: belly bands, etc. but I feel like my money could go toward something for him instead of a band. Do you think an ace bandage would work if it was wrapped tightly? LOL ...anything to help this bulging belly! Also, how long does it normally take for the uterus to shrink back to size? Will I still continue to lose water weight, blood, etc? I know it's only been 6 days and I might be expecting too much too soon ...fill me in ladies! I'm a FTM if you can't tell, so this new "figure" of mine is all new to me as well...
THANKS!! ![]()

My girlfriend who had a csection gave me her velcro wrap and said to use it after my baby was born to keep everything as tight as possible. I had a vaginal delivery and try to wear something tight around my waist during the day (either the belly band, some spanx, or the csection wrap)-not sure if it will really do anything or not but girl, I will try anything! I think I read that by 4-6 weeks your uterus is back down to regular size.
