So I've never been especially strong, but I've always been "strong enough" for what I need to do day-to-day.
I just got out of the O.R. and I struggled to drill through this guy's skull!!! Not your everyday pregnancy complaint maybe, but it is something I do nearly everyday, and suddenly I'm having trouble with it.
As the only woman in my profession in my province, I am that much more embarrassed. One of the guys actually pushed on the drill for a bit (until my death stare made him back off a bit). The boys all had a laugh. It's a good thing that nearly every one of my dozen male colleagues are as excited as I am that I'm pregnant and they are all very supportive. They've been taking every symptom (nausea, quick sprints to be bathroom, fatigue) in stride, but usually with a bit of a laugh.
This is the second time now that I've been too weak do do something in a surgery that I've always been able to do. I'm going to take feminism a step back and have to have male back up for all my cases soon (joke ... maybe).
Anyone else feeling like their strength is being zapped even when it isn't fatigue that is the issue?
Re: This baby is stealing my strength
Same here. School doesn't start back for a month but we have 2 weeks of summer school and I teach it every summer. I'm at school at 7:30 each morning and spend from 8-1:30 teaching incoming first graders. I get home and everyday I take a nap and I'm still tired by 9pm! At least I'm able to take a nap, I can't imagine how I would function if I couldn't.
""No one else will ever know the strength of my love for you. After all, you're the only one who knows what my heart sounds like from the inside."
"On the night you were born, the moon smiled with such wonder that the stars peeked in to see you and the night wind whispered "Life will never be the same." Because there had never been anyone like you... ever in the world." ~ Nancy Tillman
This! Totally badass.
