I bought the My Brest Friend because you are able to stand up & walk around with it where as the Boppy you can not. That's my main reason why I bought it. I also have the Boppy.

I only used a boppy for DS and it was amazing... LOVED it!
It is also nice becuase it doubles as a little chair for LO when they are really little. It props them up a bit so they can see and they cant/wont roll around.

I love my boppy as well for all of these reasons. Just wish you could stand up & walk around with it.

I used a boppy for DD as well, but I used a my brest friend at my BFing class. I found it to be more useful when actually BFing, so I'm thinking about purchasing one this time around.
I had both. My sister in law gave me her Breast Friend and it was nice because I was able to keep the Boppy downstairs and the BF upstairs. I preferred the Boppy though, seemed to fit me better and had more uses. My son was a fast eater so I never felt like I needed to be up and moving while he ate.
I liked my Boppy. Guess I didn't see a real need to stand up and walk around while nursing. I loved sitting in the glider with the Boppy and DD in my lap. It was relaxing!

I loved sitting down too, but my concern comes from having a 1yo when #2 is born & needing to tend to him at the same time. I suppose it isn't necessary for everyone.

The first time I used the MBF was at my LC's office. She didn't say she didn't like the Boppy, but said that it's easier to get the baby in proper position and to stay that way with the MBF. My complaint with the Boppy was that my squirmy kid would wiggle his way in between me and the Boppy - pushing it away from me - defeating the purpose. I felt like I was constantly trying to keep it up close to my body and it wasn't working. The strap on the MBF was so nice. Put it on, and it stays put. Whether you want to get up and walk around with it, or just resituate yourself without disturbing a nursing LO. Nursing was so much more enjoyable for me with the MBF - I could multi-task easier not worrying about trying to keep my pillow in place.
A lot of people like Boppys fine. But for me the MBF was a significant improvement!

This! I had problems keeping the boppy in place when nursing. Part of this could be because I'm a bigger mama and it just didn't fit around me nicely, but DS was (and is) wiggly. This time around I'm going to get a MBF that I can secure around me. I'll probably still use the boppy occasionally because I did like it, but I can see the MBF being much easier to use.
I had both a Boppy and this luna pillow and used them both. I used the boppy in my glider in the nursery, because I could fit it - and secure it, so to speak - between me and the sides of the chair. This luna pillow is more flexible - I used this on the couch and in the bed.
There's nothing wrong with having 2. Boppys can be picked up very inexpensively second hand, and then you just use a new/clean cover for it. I liked having to not carry mine up and down the stairs or ask someone to get it for me all the time, I just had 1 in each of the places I nursed most often.
I think guys are more likely to use a Boppy or a luna pillow for bottle feedings too - helps with support/ease/comfort. I can't see a guy strapping on a brest friend

I had both. I thought I would hate the MBF at first when I tried it on with the strap and all, it just seemed like too much. After I had DD, I used the Boppy in the hospital thinking I was going to return the MBF. When I got home, I tried the MBF and OMG it was amazing. It was just so easy to get DD in just the right position to BF. I felt like the Boppy helped support DD but I still had to hold her up to me. With the MBF, I could literally let go of her completely and she would still be able to BF just fine. It was really helpful when I started pumping because I would get her latched on one side, then get my breast pump going on the other side. When I tried to do that with the Boppy, I ended up getting milk everywhere, my breast pump would end up tangled or on the floor, DD would come unlatched and be crying. It was way too stressful.
Sorry this turned into such a long post. I just can't speak highly enough of the MBF. The Boppy is okay IMO, but the MBF is awesome!
I really liked the firmness of the my Brest Friend pillow, and that it could snap around me and stay in place. I tried a bobby and another soft pillow at a lactation consultant office, and they weren't supportive enough for my needs, and they would pull away from me. I could feed one handed easy with the Brest Friend pillow and even no handed for a little bit.
I would also say that while you may not think you will get up and move around a lot while nursing, do not underestimate how much time a newborn will spend on the boob and how many times you will I inevitably sit down, LO will latch on, an you will realize you forgot a drink for yourself, or your phone, or the remote, or any number of other things. And sure, they get really efficient eventually and can nurse in 10 minutes, but for us that wasn't the critical phase when I needed a comfortable pillow to stay in place. Newborns can spend 20-30 minutes per side. And the MBF prevented me from being completely stuck for those marathon sessions.

I have both. The boppy has a lot of uses for baby so it's worth having, but for breast feeding I loved My Brest Friend. The Boppy kept sliding away from me when DS would move. The Brest Friend attaches and I could stand up and nurse.

I am the weirdo here, but I wasn't a big fan of the Boppy and have never used a MBF. I tried to nurse my LO with the Boppy and it just didn't seem to fit right. In the glider in her room it was just too big to go in between me and the arms of the chair. On the couch I usually just used a pillow- it was just more comfy for me. I had so many friends tell me I HAD to have a Boppy, but I really only used it for propping up my daughter to take pics of her I still have it and will give it a try this time around, but I'm not planning on buying a MBF too.
I started with the Boppy, but had issues with DD slipping between the pillow and me. After visiting a LC, I fell in love with the Brest Friend. I sent DH out to the store that weekend to get one! The Boppy quickly became used for tummy time and propping DD up.
I suggest My Brest Friend. I felt it gave DD a sturdier surface to nurse on and it was still comfortable.
I have a boppy but used a breast friend in the lactation office. The MBF was so much better. Xavier was a really small baby and the MBF worked so much better than the boppy because I was able to position him better. The boppy just didnt give me enough prop. I would always have to stuff blankets underneath the boppy. I'm definitely going to buy a MBF for this one because it was just so much easier.
