Re: trouble sleeping!

  • I'm having trouble too.  Some nights are better than others, but some nights are really bad.  Like up til 3am bad.

It's really hard for me too because I'm the kind of person who NEEDS sleep and I usually have no trouble sleeping!  So frustrating!

  • I can't sleep either and Tylenol PM is not working for me.  I have an OB appointment tomorrow and going to ask her about it.  With a crazy toddler at home and working full time I have to be able to rest better!  I'm not sure mine is more being uncomfortable or if I'm just super restless.
  • I'm miserable.  I'm having back problems and between that and generally being uncomfortable I'm getting very little sleep

  • I have been taking a Unisom every night to sleep and it has been helping a lot. It is safe for pregnancy but make sure you get original Unisom not extended release or other types.

  • For me it's mostly breathing. I am so congested I can't breath. If my mouth opens, I wake up. I also keep rolling onto my stomach which then feels sore and makes me have to pee. I'm still getting up three or more times a night to pee. So frustrating. I was told by 16 weeks I'd be all kinds of energetic and happy. I'm still waiting.

  • I didn't sleep more than 4-5 hours a day from weeks 8-16 and it was horrible. My doctor had me take Tylenol PM (she also suggested plain benedryl or unisom) to try to re-teach my body how to sleep. I seriously only had to take it for 2 nights and I am now back to sleeping 7-8 hours a night and getting a good 4-5 hour stretch before my bladder wakes me up.

I hope you can all find something to help you sleep. I know how miserable it is to be so exhausted yet unable to sleep...

  • I usually fall asleep pretty fast but I wake up a lot and I can't really get comfortable.  I have Sciatica so my hip and leg get sore a lot.  I find it's getting harder and harder to get comfortable no matter what Im doing (laying on the couch watching TV, sitting at my desk or sleeping)

  • I have had a few bad nights where had insomnia for no apparant reason.  Normally I can fall asleep pretty quickly once get into the right position.  The one thing I noticed is when I have trouble sleeping - I go out to the couch and can fall asleep there no problem (the couch is softer then the bed).

  • I am in the same boat! I woke up at 3am this morning and finally fell back asleep at 5:30 to wake up at 6:15 for work. Its torture.
  • I recommend a body pillow, it has helped ease the pain in my hips and back.  And honestly, I still sleep on my back a bit.  It's not for long, but I figure if my body needs me to turn over, I will.  Or I'd wake up b/c something just wouldn't be right. So I take the risk and that has helped me so much.
  • Thanks I'm gonna ask my doc about it Friday and I will get a body pillow..makes me feel better to Kno I'm not the only one
  • Girl, I got me a Leachco Snoogle pillow and it is sooo comfortable. I put it on my bed only when I'm ready to close my eyes and go to sleep--trying to condition myself that snoogle=sleep. It really helps with getting comfortable... not so much with the peeing, but one out of two ain't bad.

  • I am having trouble sleeping too, but not only because I can't get comfy... I literally have to go to the bathroom minimum of 3 times during the night... I have a tiny bladder on top of pregnancy so my future with sleeping is not looking like a good one!
  • I've been having trouble sleeping too like my body and mind are restless yikes and also i wake up at about 6-630 every morning on the weekdays seems like baby has me on schedule already! &i'm eating like every 2-3 hrs pratically hungry all over again like i havent ate all day really weird!

  • I'm having the same trouble but for no apparent reason.  I don't have pain, and since starting 2nd tri I'm able to go through the night without getting up to pee.  Nevertheless I'm waking up every 2-3 hours and angrily looking at the clock dreading my alarm.  I have a body pillow and that helped me be much more comfortable, but sadly that hasn't translated into longer sleep.

    You are certainly not alone.
