I fell down the stairs holding baby

I'm at my mom's today with Kitty. She has a gate at the bottom of the stairs to keep the dogs down, and like a dumbass I tried to step over it without hitting the last step first. My ankle rolled and I fell. it was a miracle the way I olympic-style-gymnasticed (yes, it's a word, I say so) my way around to keep her from slamming into the ground or the wall. So, she is totally fine, but I twisted the ever living hell out of my ankle. Now I'm stuck at my mom's for the night because I can't drive. I sleep over here occasionally, so we're comfortable, but I was so looking forward to hanging with dh tonight. He's been working nights lately and today he worked during the day, so I was excited for some extra time with him. That aside, I am so thankful to who ever has been watching out for our babies lately (like the car accident below!)

That is one of my biggest fears! Thankfully we don't have stairs in our house but I always clutch DS to me like he's a football whenever going down stairs just in case. I'm glad you're both (relatively) okay!

Glad you and Kitty are ok!! I did this when Logan was 5 weeks, fell down the last few stairs and now I'm terrified. He was fine too, but it's scary!

I'm glad baby is ok. Sorry you fell, I have fallen on stairs and hurt my foot three times. It hurts!!

You're more graceful than me. I fell down the stairs woth adam when he was about 2 months old, and i screwed my back up for a month and still ended up hitting his head on the stairs. he was fine too, thankfully.

i'm glad she escaped that one unscathed thanks to her mommy's awesome reflexes!! but sorry bout your ankle

Hope you feel better, this is my biggest fear. We live in a 3 story town home and our stairs are L shaped, I'm so nervous going down the steps. I've fallen plenty of times without LO I'm such a clutz!!!!

I think Kitty actually may have enjoyed it. I was worried about her having whip lash even though she didn't hit anything, but she just looked around once I was on the floor like she was trying to figure out how to do it again. My ankle hurts like a B, but it's feeling a little better than it did a couple hours ago. My mom has been teasing me all day. I get my clumsiness from her, and we both thought that if anyone was going to fall down the stairs with the baby it would be her. I will definitely be much more careful from now on. No more skipping steps for me!
