Bday Party ?s

So we have decided to have DS party at a bowling alley. We are going to order enough pizzas for everyone (kids and adults) but do we need to pay for he adults to bowl too? My feeling is no since it's a kids party. I'd personally like to pay for everyone but that would add a lot of extra expense.

Also, in regards to pizza I was going to order enough for everyone to have a slice or two as we are having the party from 3-430, which to me is out of normal eating times. (we can't bring in snacks and they don't really have snacks that are okay age wise I.e. popcorn or not compatible w ds food allergies.) thoughts?

  • You don't have to pay for the adults. The adults might help their kids bowl but they aren't there to actually bowl themselves. The last bowling party we went to, the parents served pizza too and it was great.

  • I agree with IDHT.  I would not pay for the parents to bowl, since it is a kid party.

With regards to food, have you spoken to the bowling alley?  Since your son has food allergies they may be willing to let you bring in some items that they do not sell.  It is worth a shot to ask, all they can do is say no!

As for feeding the adults, if I took my daughter to a children's birthday party at 3 pm, I would NOT expect to be fed.

  • I don't think you need to pay for the adults to bowl, but I do think you need to allow for them to eat at least 1 slice of pizza.

I find it odd to sit around while a bunch of kids are eating and just have the adults watch.  I would assume that adults will eat a slice of pizza and a soft drink.

They will let me bring in pizza for him but that's it. And I agree about the feeding part, I just figured I should have something just in case...

Ita...sorry I didn't word what I meant correctly... I was wondering if the amounts were okay given it is an "off" time to eat.

  • Thank you all for your feedback.  I really appreciate it!  Now to order his cupcakes :). Sweet sin bakery in Baltimore has the best gluten free ( and dairy free) cupcakes!  They taste like regular cupcakes....like you aren't ,issuing anything by eating them.  I just need to get DS to figure out what kind he wants.  ( he told me vanilla today but he always picks some chocolate kind or another so I am going to ask him a few more times to be on the safe side).
