I thought I was doing great, gaining slow and steady, then the past few weeks it's like 3-4lbs a week! I've been retaining water like crazy, so I know that's a big part of it. My blood pressure has been fine and no protein in urine. I just wish there was a way to shed the water weight. I've tried to cut back on salt, drink more water with lemon and cucumber, swimming in the evenings. Nothing seems to help other than lying with my feet up for 2 days straight with the AC turned down to 68 degrees!
If you're retaining that much water, there will come a time 1-3 weeks pp where you just will not stop peeing.
I sh!t you not when I tell you I lost 32 pounds in 3 days pp. My edema wouldn't let up and I had to be put on a diaretic for it (which is really rare, so not something to worry about).

Yup, I'm in this club, too. I lost 8 lbs. in the first trimester, gained it back in the second trimester, and then the scale went to he11 once I hit the third trimester.
Oh well.

I'm afraid to step on the scale next week - I'm sure I've gone up quite a bit in the last 4-5 weeks. This is when I started packing on the pounds with my last pregnancy, but most of it was water weight. Whichever poster said if you're retaining water, you'll pee all the time pp - I agree with that. I was that way, too.

Guess I'll pull up a chair too. I do the official weigh-in at the doctor on Thursday, but when I checked this morning I had gained 4 pounds since my appointment two weeks ago! Maybe I should avoid all things scale.

At least the constant peeing means relief. I feel like I pee all the time as it is, though I never feel like I empty my bladder. *le sigh*

I lost 15 lbs. in the beginning and am up like uh...40? It's whatever in my opinion. I'm not stuffing my face with ho-ho's or eating a big mac on the reg. I try to watch what I eat (kind of) and get a *really* light work out in when I can though.
Yep. It's getting bad now..like fat face bad. I so enjoy this part of pregnancy lol. No less than 5 people today said to me "you must be due any day now!". Yeah bishes..because 7wks is "any day". I am skeered to see the scale at my appt on monday. It is usually at this point that I randomly put on 7lbs in a 2wk period.

I've gained over 40lbs at this point. Water weight won't go away and sadly I think that there is plenty of normal fat-weight just hanging around too. Super fun.
My weight with this pregnancy bloughs. I gained 36 with DS and am pretty sure I'll be past 40 at my appointment this coming Saturday...and I still have 5 weeks to go. Oh well...nothing I can do now. Back to Weight Watchers and Running I go as soon as the Dr. give me the okay.
I thought I was doing really well with my weight gain this pregnancy. jumped on the scale last night or giggles and yeah I almost choked. pretty sure I have gained 8 pounds in 3 weeks :-/
wish I could attribute mine to swelling/ water retention but thats not the issue. maybe I'm having twins and didn't know it? lol
AW: I got gold stars at my last two doc appts for not gaining any weight.
Don't be fooled though, I gained enough in the weeks leading up to that for me and you both. Blah.
I didn't gain anything at my last appt and my belly didn't grow so I got sent for a u/s. Luckily baby was measuring 10 days ahead and looked good. I told them I would make it up at the next appointment. My nurse laughed but here I am eating mac n cheese for lunch and ice cream out of the carton for dessert. I even bought stuff to make strawberry shortcake this week. MMMM
Anyway, OP. I gained a lot of water weight my last month of pregnancy with DS. My ankles and legs were so swollen. Nothing I did made them go down. They were still pretty swollen when I left the hospital. I can't remember when it went down.
I actually gained the most in the 1st and 2nd trimester. I have found that if I go to the Dr at the end of the week my weight gain is less than if I go at the beginning of the week. I tend to pig out a bit more on the weekend, and it's all still sitting in my gut on Monday or Tuesday. If I go to the Dr on Thursday opr Friday though I have had all week of healthy eating to clean out the heavy carbs. I am still up 40 lbs right now. Dr originally anticipated me going 30 to 40, but I only gained a half a pound in the last 2 weeks, so I'm hoping I wont pass 44 lbs bcs then I will break 200...I am so not looking forward to passing 200lbs.
I am up 20lbs. I would be up a lot more but I gained 5 in 2 weeks for my last appt and they're having me follow a GD diet for high risk factors. So I am kind of maintaining/gaining slowly at this point. As long as my BP is fine, that's all that matters to me right now. I was also overweight going into pregnancy, so I think I am on track for how much I should be gaining.

I gained 5 lbs at my last appointment two weeks ago. I was pissed. But at today's appointment, I was down 2 lbs. So maybe the scale was wrong. (i'm hoping) I've gained a ton of weight, I'm already up to almost 30 lbs

I was so excited that I was only up 9 pounds. Then in a week I gained 2 more. Then the next week I learned I had gained 2 more. I am not liking this trend.
My weight has been pretty steady the past few weeks. This is when I really started gaining with DD. Not looking forward to it because it all goes to my ass and face.
ETA: Last time I gained 35 lbs. I was only down 5 lbs. a week after DD was born (and she weighed almost 8 lbs... WTH?), but with BF and Weight Watchers, by her first birthday I was down 17 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight. So, there's hope!
Yup. I am starting to swell and my skin feels so tight on my hands and feet. I'm rocking some serious cankles. Sigh. I'm up 40 lbs. 6 weeks to go and I'm hoping I only gain 1 lb a week to the end but I saw my perinatologist today and he said no more walking with this heat because of my swelling and the threat of pre-e. Like a PP said, hoping that BF and running after delivery will take the lbs off.

Didn't gain much through 20 weeks, but have gained a lot since 28 weeks. Luckily, my MW just says I'm making up for lost time.
I'm pretty sure the weight isn't water weight either. I'm just really hungry.
