AW: We had our gender reveal shower yesterday and...

It's a boy! I wanted to post a link to the video, but I'm clueless when it comes to changing video formats and all that jumbo, so... no vid. Sorry.

Of course my husband is absolutely thrilled, and I'm just excited to not be having 'omg we had a baby and I don't know what it is!' dreams anymore. Let the shopping begin!

  • Wait... I'm confused.  You're almost 33 weeks PG and you just did a gender reveal yesterday?  At this point... why wouldn't you just wait?

Either way, congrats on your baby BOY!

  • Oooh, ok so you guys didn't know either. I thought you were just revealing to others. Interesting concept.

    Congrats! Boys are fun.

  • I've never heard of a gender reveal shower! Sounds like fun. Congrats and happy shopping!

I've head of that before. I heard someone had their dr write the gender down and seal it in an envelope. Then they gave it to the bakery and at the shower the cake was going to be pink or blue on the inside depending the gender.

Congrats on your little boy though!!

  • Yes, it seems crazy. DH didnt' want to find out at all, and I did. So our compromise was to do a gender reveal party. Since my family lives 10+ hrs away, we figured it'd be best to do it at our baby shower, which just made sense to have closer to our due date. Hence the wait.

that's pretty neat. So, did the guests know? Sorry if I missed that part. I was just wondering if they shopped as team green or if they knew to go Blue?

No, noone knew. We got the envelope at our 19 wk ultrasound-- it was realllllly hard not to look. We plan on having more children fairly soon, so we went with gender neutral equipment, and kept the clothing items as gender neutral as possible also (we got a LOT of white onesies). I am making the bedding so we didn't have to register for blankets, sheets, etc. There were a few people who brought boy and girl gifts, and then just gave us the appropriate one after we cut the cake. It was nice to have all of our family and friends there for the big reveal!
