Both ingoing and outgoing. Nothing malicious, just random calls from girls with disguised voices asking for random friend names on my son's phone. He's having fun. He put his youngest brother on the phone with one of them and had him pretend to be the friend "Rachel" they were calling for. Lots of giggling on both sides. It's a good Saturday afternoon.
Re: prank calls happening
What can I say? We're a crime ridden family. My mom even got in on it, calling them back from her phone pretending to be the pretend friend's mom.
Sorry, but I kind of agree with this. See the post lower down in BF's where one SM's SS had his uncle call BD. It was quite disrespectful and borderline dangerous.

Here's the link.
I think this just highlights that prank calls by 10 and 11 year olds are fun, not creepy. The creepy element of the prank call by the 10 year old SS of the other poster was from the creepy 21 year old pot-smoking uncle, not the kid!
10 year olds don't find apps for prank calls, nor do they think to accuse someone of being a child molester. They call boys/girls they like, giggle, and hang up.
I hope her 10 year old SS is enjoying his weekend and that dad steps up and gives the BM an earful about leaving her son in the care of a pot-smoking criminal skeeze ball who lands her son in trouble.
Omg. Been there already. It was a two piece swimsuit pic from a girl, and I said it was too much. I called her mom to let her know (soooo embarrassing, right) and we had a good talk about it.
Isn't it scary?
I was joking about my "crime-ridden" family who thinks some silly prank calls are okay.
I called the skeevy uncle a criminal since she said he's a pot smoker.
I totally got your criminal joke. And I missed the original pot smoker comment. I am very anti-drug so I will go with you on that, I just did not think the boy with the uncle was on the path to being a criminal because he prank called his Dad, I just feel like those things used to be rights of passage and are now taken out of context (not saying all things but a prank call that is not threatening.) All the kid needed was to be told not to pull it again.
As for your SS, I also think it is cute/funny.
