Low amniotic fluid

Hey girls...just posting to see if anyone else is dealing with the same issue....

I went to my OB yesterday for my last 2 week check up.  We also had an ultrasound scheduled because I was measuring small.  Well, little man weighs 5 lb 3 oz and is measuring about a week behind, but the bad news of it all was that my amniotic fluid levels are low.

She said mine are at 6, and they put you on bedrest at 5.  Between this problem, the gestational diabetes and the horrendous swelling I've been dealing with...I just feel so frustrated with my body for not working "properly."

We are going into L&D this afternoon to get another ultrasound and a biophysical profile to see if the levels were just abnormal yesterday or if they have increased or lowered even more.

I want him to stay in until my scheduled induction on the 27th.  (I was really hoping for my Sept. baby, but with the GD, they won't let me go past 39 weeks anyway...) I'm scared for him...I am ready to meet him, but I want him to cook as long as possible.

Please keep us in your thoughts...I will update later tonight.

  • I had low AF at my dr appt a week ago. First the tech measured a 6, then a 9 but my OB was concerned. She scheduled me for a repeat ultrasound a few days later and told me to drink water like crazy since it's something that can help.

DH said "this is YOUR Olympics." and was crazy on my case about it. Buuuuuuuut when i went in this Tuesday, my levels were at a 16!

    So DRINK DRINK DRINK!!,

Just got back from L&D, my levels jumped to an 11.  I'm going to continue the drinking water and trying to rest and relax as much as possible.  Austin did good on the NST as well.  They drew a ton of blood though...and my BP was high, so they sent me home with the lovely urine collection jug (already had to do this once this pregnancy!) and I have to return it tomorrow.

Thanks for the positive vibes.  Here's hoping he can stay in there 3 more weeks. :)
