Ok, I have had this rash around my nose that comes and goes for about a year now, so I don't think it's pregnancy related. My GP has given me a steroid cream, and and antibiotic cream, which clear it up when I use it. THe problem comes when I stop using the cream after a week, and the rash flares up worse then before, and since I have been using the steroid, it has spread down around my mouth. I consulted Dr Google, and from what I can tell, it's perioral dermatits (muzzle rash) and using topical steroids is the WORST thing you can use on it. I stopped using that, and now I have the worst flare up ever! The recommended treatments are not safe for pregnancy or breastfeeding (strong anti-biotics) So I am looking for a natural treatment that I can use in the meantime to tame the rash. Has anyone heard of this, or treated it themselves???

I had peripheral dermatitis as a kid and they had me on 2 different creams and a pill of some sort. It got really bad after starting the medication and then it went away and I never had it again. I don't think this is much of a help but I had it for like 2 years before I treated it. Good luck!

Thanks! I am trying to treat it right now with tea tree oil, and I am in the it will get worse before it gets better phase. I hope this clears it up a bit, I definetly don't want to have to wear makeup in the hospital just so I can have decent pictures with my baby!

Re: Perioral Dermatitis (since we are talking about rashes today!)
Sorry I can't be of more help, but I wanted to say it sucks that you have to deal with it and I hope you're able to find something that can help.
Sometimes, I'm hilarious.
