Mommy fail.

DD1 lost her tooth on Thursday. The tooth fairy has yet to come. I forgot on Thursday night to get her to put the tooth under her pillow, so I had a good excuse for that one. Last night we put the tooth under her pillow at bed time, but I forgot to replace it with money. Poor baby woke up and started crying after she looked under her pillow. I really need to get my sh!t together.

  • Are you saying that you're the tooth fairy??  OMG!!!

On a more serious note...what will you do with her tooth? I always wondered what parents do with them...

My mom has them in her dresser still and we are 32(almost 33) and 27(me) (almost 28)

  • I did the same thing a few weeks ago when my oldest lost his first tooth.  Thankfully, DH thought of it, and took care of things before he left for his night shift!

Do it tonight, and leave a letter from the tooth fairy, saying she had a cold, and couldn't visit last night because she didn't want to make all the kids sick.  And maybe leave an extra dollar!  :)

  • Whoops. I like the letter idea, or maybe you could stage a phone call.  My mom staged a phone call from Santa one year for my younger brother when he was being particularly difficult - she got someone to call and play along.  I was old enough to understand what she did and thought it was funny.

I guess I'm the tooth fairy. I mean, she didn't come on her own last night, so that theory is out the window.

I think I have her other teeth up in the medicine cabinet. She lost two of them in the front yard- long story.

  • I am so glad my daughter doesn't believe in the tooth fairy, the Easter bunny or Santa anymore !!! Lol now I get all the credit

  • LOL, I will totally be this mom, too!  Plus, it is so hard to sneak into DD's room.  Maybe I'll tell her the tooth fairly comes if you leave the tooth outside the door.

  • One time my Mom forgot and the tooth somehow under my pillow broke in 2, so I told her since the tooth fairy forgot I would put each half under a different night and she would think I just had small teeth...my Mom said if I tried to trick the tooth fairy she might not come back at all!

    So cute!

ETA: I'll keep this one in mind because I'm pretty sure I'm going to make a terrible Tooth Fairy...
