Why are people so rude?!

I just got back from Walmart to buy a few bottles, and this is the conversation I had with the check-out lady:

Lady: "You're using bottles to breastfeed?"

Me: "Um, no, I give DD formula...."

Lady: "What good excuse could you possibly have not to breastfeed?"

Me: "Well, not only was DD not getting enough food, but I had mastitis on one side, and blood shooting out of the other, so that was enough for me."

Lady: "That isn't good enough. You really shouldn't have stopped. That's not a good enough reason."

WTF?! What ever happened to people minding their own business?!

That is rude!  What would make her think she had any right to place her opinion. I get so made when people talk about breast feeding as if it is the ONLY option and I am breast feeding!

Idiots!!  I feel like ever since I've had DS random people think it is ok to give me parenting advice.  I can't go to the grocery store without someone telling me something that I should be doing.  UGH!

That is so tacky! Why on earth do people need to ask such personal questions for? I'd never ask a stranger if she BF or not, so rude. Sorry you had to go through that, people are stupid.

I did want to say something really rude to her, I had all these things flying through my head... But then I just thought me being rude to her would be the same thing, and I definitely didn't want to be her back, you know? Plus I was so shocked that she was even saying those things, I was too flustered to really think!

wWow!  I probably would have started shouting "Lady my breasts are none of your business" and then gotten a hold of her supervisor.
