So yesterday after lunch I started feeling major back pain with some menstrual cramping. They were stronger than I thought was normal, but not painful, so I decided to call my dr just to be safe. She sent me home to time them out for 45 minutes and put my feet up and to call back. Well the "pulling" feeling went away but the back pain went to a dull ache, but nothing back-breaking. I told her all this and she sent me to L&D just to be safe. Turns out, I was having "real" contractions 3 minutes apart and just not feeling them. They gave me the drugs to try and stop the contractions, and they finally subsided after about 12 hours. No baby is here since they want him to cook some more, but as of today they're not going to stop labor if it comes since I'm officially 34 weeks according to their charts. Kind of scary! Moral of the story: everyone told me you'd be doubled over in pain with real labor pains, not necessarily true!!!!
Re: Apparently the full moon theory has some validity
I would still call your doctor if you're unsure! I was only 30% effaced when I went to my doctor's appointment Tuesday, and when I checked in yesterday to L&D I was 80% effaced, 1 cm dialated, with nothing but the back pain to show for it. I would call just to be safe
