To tell me my AFP test looked great. Which was nice for me, considering I somehow missed that they were doing one at all. Not sure who dropped the ball on that one... my pregnancy brain or them.
I had to look it up too! They check for elevated levels of a specific protein, which shows the risk for certain birth defects, like spina bifida. It's like the NT -- a screening test, rather than diagnostic test.
Glad you got good results! I'm waiting on mine yet, they took my blood monday and the nurse said no news is good news, in which I replied to no news is more worrying what the results are. She said she would try and call me regardless. FX!

If you had an NT scan it's basically the 2nd blood work test they perform. Mine was taken at my 16 week appointment.
