Maybe I'm being judgemental, but why has she been so long without seeing her OB? It's seems a little irresponsible to me. I don't really understand at all....

Re: From 3rd Tri board-
She said she moved and then had trouble finding a doc that would take her insurance.
From there, I'm assuming she couldn't get an appointment right away.
The insurance thing is probably something I would have researched before moving.
That's my thought too; not only researching insurance but also finding an OB and getting an appointment set up.
This. We moved back in March when I was about 9 weeks along and you can bet I had an appointment ready for me when we got here.
I'm pretty sure she addressed why she hasn't seen her OB in her post ( she moved ) and I don't know if you have moved across country but I have an its the pits especially pregnant. And she may have been told it would be easier by her insurance company but the new Dr. may not have been able to get her in anytime sooner .
She pretty much took responsibility for that I think her concern was why the appointment didn't meet her expectations.

Right- at 9 weeks Pg, you were thinking ahead. I don't get why she didn't do that, especially knowing she was going into 3rd Tri. Like I said before, it just seems risky and a little irresponsible. Just my opinion, obviously.

She stated that she had a hard time finding a Dr. that would take her insurance, so for all we know she started looking and couldn't find one that was excepting new patients. And it seems as though not moving was not an option.
There certainly could be more to it - having worked in foreign countries for the last few years and moving myself, it's not always as easy as just doing some research and getting an appointment. It can take months and there isn't always the luxury of that much notice before a move, at least with my job. Depending on what country she moved to, she could have encountered an underserved area on top of insurance issues. I'm inclined to give her the benefit of the doubt.
However, being concerned about not getting a cervical check would have been the last thing on my mind, and if I were in the pain she described and suspected an infection, an ER visit would have been in order if finding a physician for continued care was that difficult.
