So.. That's Not Going To Work... Pack & Play Sheet Issues?

I bought fitted pack and play sheets and just tried to put them on the mattress... mattress will NOT lay flat with the fitted sheet on. So aside from having to wipe down the mattress if she has an accident is there any real reason that I need a sheet on there? I mean the mattress is plastic coated and she'll be swaddled anyway.

  • If the pad is plastic coated, wouldn't it be kinda sticky? Like sitting on a sofa with a plastic cover on it? I wouldn't want to sleep on that.

I'm sure it'll lay flat once there is weight on it.

Or you could buy some sticky velcro tabs maybe?

  • No, i always just put a thin blanket down then put him down on that. I never bought a sheet.

  • The pack and play is a Bright Starts and the sheet is Circo (however you spell it that they sell at Target) and I tried pressing it down (there are velcro tabs on the bottom so I figured I could get it to stick) and it kept popping up because I guess the sheet was too tight? I just imagine myself getting it to stay down then it flopping up and over in the middle of the night because of the stretch and hitting her in her cute little face. :(
  • I had this problem with my bassinet. I couldn't get the sheet to fit without the little pad folding up. I'm still confused and haven't bothered to look at it again. There is a a little cover on it that came with it, so I'm just going with that.

As for the PNP, I bought the sheets because I thought it needed them, but then when I put it together at home I realized it didn't really need it. Honestly, it seems easier to wipe down the material that's on it than to wash sheets. ?? Maybe I'm missing something....

what kind did you get? i got carters sheets for my graco pnp and they fit fine, even with a pad underneath.

Same here on the brands, and they fit fine.

I've been really disappointed in the Circo brand.  Their sheets look nice, but their mattress pads/changing pad liners don't wash really well :(

Ya I'm not really happy right now. The only other store by me that sells baby things is Walmart though. I hope my Walmart has some pack and play sheets if I drive all the way there...

  • That happened with the generic brand sheets I bought for my Graco PNP (I bought them at Walmart I believe).  I've had better luck with Carters brand.  But the baby's weight does help - a lot.  I wouldn't want baby sleeping right on the mattress.

I didn't think we needed a sheet for the PNP with DD...it was DH who insisted after she was born that we needed to buy one before she could sleep there. So I wouldn't side-eye you if you went without. I would not just put a blanket down, as that would have me worried about SIDS.

  • I have had the same experience with the Circo pack n play sheets from target but I left the sheet on for a while and it eventually stretched out I guess and its pretty flat now. I also had the same issue with bassinet sheets by Gerber, apparently they are only made for certain mattresses.
  • I dont have the same brand PNP as you do, but I will share that I bought a velour feeling fitted sheet for our PNP from BRU- I believe the brand is Koala Baby.  It fits our PNP perfect and is actually a little loose so I was able to put an extra waterproof sheet protector underneath it.  I also bought some Circo brand ones to have as backup, and I have to wrestle with it a little bit, but eventually they fit.

Here is the link to the one I have that I really like:

     Good luck and happy shopping!
