How do you handle sick days/vacation plans with a nanny? The daycare we were going to use has us pay per week regardless of whether our child is present or not with a 50% vacation credit after six months. Do the same rules apply to a nanny? TIA.
I believe this can be included in your contract. You can offer like 1 week vacation paid and 4 sick days paid, etc. I would offer it since I work and like to have a few sick days and also a paid vacation.
We gave our nanny 10 vacation days (5 of our choosing and 5 hers.) She gets 3 sick days and the same holidays that we get. If we take any additional days off, we pay her. If she exceeds her allotment, then those days are unpaid.

Re: nanny question re pay for sick days/vacation
We do this. Exactly.
This is very common from what I gathered.
