If your LO is crawling, did they roll both ways consistently before doing so? DS#1 & DD did, but DS#2 is looking like he just wants to pick up and go forward. He can roll both ways, but rarely rolls from back to tummy. He is almost fully up on hands and knees (but only will practice during the night...fun fun) I wonder, is rolling both ways consistently a necessary precursor to crawling?

DD is not ready to crawl at all, but my good friend has a 7 month old who is crawling already. She, however, can not roll either way.. and has no desire to!
Yikes, the first time I glance at this board and I see a post about crawling! I am so not ready for that yet!
I will add that my first did roll both ways before he started crawling. But I'm sure some babies will crawl first if they really want to be on the move!
Re: Question for those of you with crawlers

You don't need to be a roller to be crawling!!
