Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Anyone's baby a crappy sleeper?

If so, how old is dc?

how long and how frequent are their naps?

How long do they sleep at night?

What are/did you do to combat this?

TIA!

Re: Anyone's baby a crappy sleeper?

  • Yes, she will only sleep in motion during the day. She has to be in the swing rocking or held. If I lay her down she will scream. The pedi suggested elevating her when she sleeps but that didn't work either.

When she is in motion she'll sleep about 1 1/2-2 hours, then be awake for 1-1/2 hours. She just very restless when she's sleeps..

At night she sleeps about 3 hours, wakes up to eat, sleeps 2 hours, eats, sleeps 2 hours. But she sqeaks and squirms a LOT at night.

If you come up with some great solution, I would love to know it!

    She's a month old.

  • My youngest was a terrible crappy sleeper.  But things have improved in the last month.

Naps, she does about 3-4 naps a day lasting from 30mins to 1hr long if i am lucky.

She started sleeping 5-6hr stretches at night time approx 2 wks ago. Some nights she surprises me and sleep 8hrs and that is PURE heaven.

Time, shusing, tummy sleeping (bad i know but she would scream bloody murder on her back), swaddling worked a little in the begining.  DD would NOT take a soother so i would let her suck on my finger to fall asleep.  Also bum patting helped.

Good luck, things do get better and easier so try not to worry what the books say and just watch your DC cues.
