My baby is getting older :(

My plan was to put Sophia in her nursery at 4 months, but we kept delaying it. She slept in a cosleeper in our room, nursed 3 times a night and woke up and smiled at us every morning.I loved that I could se her sleep and nurse her comfortably without having to get out of bed. But I also knew that the older she got, the more difficult it would be for her to get used to sleeping alone. 7+ months was old enough, right?

One of the excuses we had for not moving her was that we didn't have a video monitor (they are ridiculously expensive here). My DH's business partner travels to Miami frequently, so we asked him to bring us one back. Instead of buying a video monitor he bought us an audio one, so DH said that we should wait and buy a video one before she goes to her own room. But I said that the audio one was good enough (her room is like 15 steps away from ours!) My DH was sad, and I was too, but we need our room back.

The first night (Saturday) she slept great, 9 hours straight plus one more hour after nursing. Last night she woke up once, ate and went right back to sleep.  I think that she likes the space she has now. I put away the cosleeper and washed her little bedding to store it, and cried a little...

BUT I'M HAPPY WE HAVE OUR BEDROOM BACK! It's bittersweet.

We just moved DS to his own room a few weeks ago.  It was definitely bittersweet for me too.  It felt like he was growing up and just becoming a little bit more independent from me.  But it was awesome to have our room back!  I can read in bed now!
