I recently started giving lo yogurt (yo baby for lunch as per my pedi's recommendation) and for the past couple of days we have been poopless. She's usually an every day girl and she has been a little cranky so I'm thinking her tummy is bothering her. She also recently re-started vitamins (I had stopped for almost a week because she stopped eating solids when we started the vitamins, so I wanted to see if there was a correlation). I'm thinking the iron in the vitamins could be the culprit, but when she started them the first time she had no problems, so I'm not sure. The yogurt is the only other new thing. What do you think?
Re: Can yogurt cause constipation?
Iron is something that can constipate so it could be that coupled with solids, dairy has been known to consitpate people so I assume it's the same for babies. My LOs get yogurt usually just once a week sometimes twice bc I have noticed they have a harder time pooping when they have it. I want to try soy yogurt but just haven't yet, maybe when this batch runs out.
Are you giving LO water? you can spike it with a tiny bit of apple juice to help consitpation or feed LO prunes, prunes usually do the trick for my LOs.
