No, you should not wear tampons. You should not be putting anything (including your fingers) in your vagina while you are miscarrying.
You are prone to infection during miscarriage, and putting anything into your vagina while you are still bleeding introduces potentially harmful bacteria to your reproductive organs. Pads are uncomfortable, but it's not worth the risk to use anything else. Pads also allow you to monitor blood flow more than a tampon would.

I am definitely a hard core tampon wearer and didn't at all during my MC. It's most certainly a good thing because of everything that came out. For the baby measuring only 6w2d there was certainly a lot of placenta! Plus all of the blood clots that come also, it's safest to stick with a pad :]
