DCs with hard-to-manage curly/dryish/frizzy hair

Alaina has a beautiful head of espresso-brown hair with lots of big curls on top  (she lost her hair on the sides and it's just now growing back in and not long enough yet to curl up) .The thing is, it's a bit crazy and can look dry/frizzy at times. (Think Kramer on Seinfield lol). A few times, I've put a speck of baby oil in her hair to keep some of the frizzies away but then it just looks oily. I was wondering what I might try next that will tame the dry frizzies but not cause her to look oily?

I use the J&J lavender massage gel.  It's the only non-Aveeno product I use, because it works great!  Tames the Albert Einstein-ness of Kate's hair, but it never makes it look greasy.
