***quidditch***

Hate to ask you this. DD is 11 month tomorrow, we were going to make her first Pedi Dental appt at one year. But, she is getting her incisors in now and her one year molar buds are there. Her bottom left one year molar is just starting to pop through and the rest are buds.

Needless to say, she is one hot drooly mess.

My question is: should we wait until her molars come in to make the appt?

  • No need to wait!  The first few appts aren't all about the teeth anyway, at least for parents who do well with brushing and diet.  Yes, we sometimes see infants with bombed out molars, but typically it's more about making sure that teeth that are supposed to be there are there, that there's no dental/facial/neck abnormalities that need to be addressed, and that the child gets used to going to the dentist.  Plus fluoride, especially if drinking water in your area is not fluoridated.

Happy birthday to your LO and let me know if you have any more questions before or after the appt!

  • Thanks so much!
