TTC After a Loss

Finding work hard (other babies mentioned)

So I work for a group of Farmer's Markets in the DC area managing their SNAP and WIC program. We have secured a variety of grants and donations that allow us to double people's benefits and make the farmer's market more affordable for the whole community. Because of this I come into contact with babies, small children and pregnant women CONSTANTLY all weekend long. Seriously, like every 5 minutes. Most of the time I can handle it but today was particularly difficult and there were a few things today that made me want to freak out.

1. One of the heavily pregnant women that comes every week came over to me with her BRAND NEW baby insisting that I hold it.

2. Another woman who just gave birth was with her baby in it's stroller chatting with others about how f#cking amazing it is to be a new mother.

3. Another woman who is a pain in the butt every week and is totally disrespectful to the whole market staff and myself starts yelling at her 15 month old baby for god knows what. Her baby is a year old...not one year going on 12! I wanted to smack her. She also is one of those entitled ladies that cant understand that every dollar we give her is a donation and not a government program that she's entitled to. She might occasionally consider not being a heinous heinous snot face. Most people who know about our programs are super nice and it's great that they have better access to fresh, healthy foods but there are a few families that are just awful to deal with.

4. ANOTHER woman comes up to me and asks if she thinks she could get an adorable baby discount and proceeds to nuzzle and kiss her baby and starts talking to it in coochie coochie coo voice about buying blackberries. Her baby is super cute but you have got to be kidding me.

I normally love working with so many mamas and babies and fabulous neighborhood families but this is KILLING me. Thanks for listening.
