We have a store that sells gently used baby/children's clothes/ toys/ equipment, etc. called Once Upon a Child. Today was their grab bag sale - anything you could cram into the provided plastic shopping bag for $15!
The sale started at 9 a.m. and a TON of people go. I mean, they sit out ahead of time to be first in line, and have line-savers & everything. Well, I had to go to TWO baby showers today, and didn't get to go until 6pm. I figured everything would be gone, but it would be worth a shot. The sign said no long sleeves or long pants. (Makes sense as a summer clearance event). So I checked out summer clothes for DD & DS in what I figure would probably fit them a year from now... this is what all I scored:
12 dresses, 1 skirt, 1 shorts for DD (in 3T sizes)
1 overall shorts, 3 swim trunks, 2 tshirts, 4 onesies, 1 pants for DS (in 12 mos) ... all for $15!
I was excited, just felt like sharing!
Oh yes, and when I checked out I asked if there was any crazy things people did to fit stuff into the tiny bags (I rolled everything up then stuffed it in)... and they said a lot of people roll, and then use rubber bands to hold the roll... and one person literally sprayed the clothes with water to get a tighter roll and fit a TON of stuff! CRAZY!

Ditto!
Me too. A grab bag sale for $15 sounds awesome!
We have a Children's Orchard (another chain resale shop) that has a bag sale a few times a year but it's a little different that yours. They don't include toys or gear in the sale, just clothes. They have large plastic storage totes in the back parking lot full of clothes mostly sorted by size (but not gender) and each bag you fill is $5. The plastic bags aren't huge but you can still get a fair amount of stuff in there -- I usually get at least 10 items in a bag; a lot of people buy 2 or more bags of clothes.
The sale starts at 9:00 and by 9:30, everything is gone. Mostly you just run and grab stuff to put in your bag, then double check your bag and throw back anything you didn't really want after all -- and someone else will swoop in and pick it up.
I love it for getting play clothes for DD and sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised with really nice items that alone are worth the $5 bag price. A couple of my better scores in the last couple of sales: a like-new Hanna Andersson sweater for DD, a wool GAP pea coat for future DS, and a Lands' End fleece bunting for future DS.
We get midnight madness at out OUAC: Every item in store gets marked down to 50% off after 7pm. I got a boba wrap for $20!! And I got a never worn Moschinno Baby skirt ($350 CDN brand new) for $1.25!!
Lurve me some OUAC
