Advice on transitioning to crib please!

DD has been STTN for over a month now and for the last week will sleep at least 8 hours without making a peep (she used to grunt and lose her paci, etc) and can sleep up to 10. She is quickly outgrowing her bassinet that is in our room and I know it's time to transition her.

I've noticed that her naps during the day are really no more than half an hour at a time and when I put her in her crib for a nap, she stays alseep for only about 10 min. (that's with a loose swaddle) She doesn't seem upset to be in her crib and wakes up pretty happy.

So my question is...Is she ready for a night in the crib? I am having a hard time gauging her comfort level in her crib because she sleeps so well at night that she really doesn't nap much during the day. Should I try to get more nap time in the crib during the day? Should I let her put herself to sleep? (Not ready for CIO)

TIA

Honestly, there wasn't much transition for my DS from the pack n play in our room to his crib.  I just did it one night with a bedtime routine.  I do a bath every other night (on nights I don't do a bath I massage with lotion), swaddle, nurse, and then lay him down.  It seemed to work so I just stuck with it.  He doesn't sleep great every night but he hasn't been consistent yet with a nighttime sleep pattern.  He goes down about 8pm and his first waking is usually 1 or 2 am.  I would do the bedtime routine with the crib so she can associate the two together.  You may have her waking more frequently at first but it will probably work itself out.

We started putting Adalyn in the crib for naps, and then one night we just put her in the crib.  We haven't looked back.  She will now nap in either the crib or her RNP, or in my arms, etc. Smile

we have struggled with the transition to the crib with my daughter waking every hour for a few nights in a row. She also only naps for 40mins - an hour. Our friend lent us a "miracle swaddle" and the past two nights there has been such a difference, she slept for 4 hours in a row in her crib and then 6 hours last night.> I would just take the plunge if I were you and stick with your routine.

This was pretty much the same for us too, we put LO to bed the first time in his crib at 4 weeks. He woke up a couple times fussing, but we'd put the pacifier back in and he'd fall back asleep. We put him "to bed" in his crib around 9pm. I wake him up at 11pm (before I go to bed for a quick feed) and then he'll sleep until 6am. Good Luck :) I think it's easier than it seems

Our lo doesn't nap well in his crib but he sure sleeps well in it at night. We just did the bedtime routine and swaddled him with the halo sleep sack swaddler. He sleeps from 10 to 5, feeds than sleeps till 9. It's awesome! I try to lay him down calm but still awake so he can get used to falling asleep on his own. I never let him cry but he has learned to fall asleep after being laid in his crib.

I struggled to get Gavin to sleep in his crib.  I tried dark, night light, brighter light, CD, no CD.  You name it I tried it.  Then a friend of mine came to visit and brought me the gift she bought for my shower.  It is a teddy bear that makes the sound of the womb.  Ever since I have had that bear I can get Gavin to sleep through the night, every night, in his crib.  It is the best invention EVER!  I can use it anytime he's fussing and I can't get him to relax.  DH says "get the bear" and we turn it on and lay it with him and in mins he's calm and then eventually falls asleep.  I wish you the best.  I was told that they have several different animals.
