I'm a HUGE gymnastics fan and will be watching all of the competitions - I have even been able to watch some of the training online (seriously I love this stuff!).  Athlete favs include Gabby Douglas, Aly Raisman, Aliya Mustafina and Ryan Lochte.  Tonight our plan is to order a pizza and settle in to watch the opening ceremonies.

I'm also secretly hoping that watching all these high-caliber athletes will motivate me to actually get my butt in to the gym!  Stick out tongue

  • What time do the opening ceremonies start?  That is usually my favorite part.  I am not so much into the sports, but if I had to pick one, probably gymnastics also.

I love lazing around on the couch and watching the olympics. It always makes me feel like a fat slob though :P

Hopefully it will motivate me to work out a little more ;)

  • I LOVE the Summer Olympics, and usually watch swimming, diving, and gymnastics closely. They held the gymnastics trials here in my hometown, and I SO wanted to go, but with the hefty price tag of IVF, that was out of the question. :(

(I have to admit though, that I don't know the majority of the athletes' names. I usually learn them AFTER the Olympics actually start...is that bad?)

    Go Team USA!

  • I usually watch some gymnastics, swimming, track and the opening ceremonies. I'm not a huge fan but I watch if it's on. This year I may not be able to watch any at all. We cut cable several months ago (tired of the price increases) and do Netflix, HuluPlus and use an antenna. Apparently we don't get NBC on the antenna and you can only access online content if you have a cable subscription. Boo!! Crying
