The horrible spelling trend made its way to advertising!

I was at Walmart tonight in the school supply aisle when a Crayola display caught my eye. There was a dry erase board type thing that had a sample artwork picture of a rainbow with the name "Kinleigh" on it. Thanks a lot Crayola for helping to reinforce the insanity.

  • I work retail and we sell the same thing. Every time I see it I roll my eyes.

Nope.  That is nothing new. I work for Nordstrom and I process shoes.  On a daily basis, I have to pause to sound out a name of a pair of shoes.  Yesterday's gem was Kyrk.  It's Kirk.  No need for a y when an i will do.

That's horrid.  Who are these people and why do companies pay them for these marketing gems?

  • I can't stand when companies use a z instead of z in their name. That or an apostrophe such as "Fine Tobacco's"
